Goalie Gray : Shutout Streak Continues

Cam Gray 96 born Goalie posts his third straight shutout and C Hill scores two as the tigers down Appleby College 3-0.

Ridley College is a Prep School in St Catherine’s Ontario and play in the MPHL, CISAA and NAPHA Leagues in Canada and US,  they also play against some CCSHL Teams like Edge from Alberta.  Cam Gray hails from Woodinville, WA (North of Seattle, WA).

Cam has been a long time student of MGD Goaltending,  since he was 7 years old, studying under the tutelage of Goalie Consultant Angelo Maggio.  Along with training with MGD Cam has become a regular member of our Summer Instructional Staff in August each year,  where he can be found instructing the next stars coming through the programs.  Cam has also become a part of the Maggio Family in Cloverdale, BC over this time with many visits during breaks in school and summer.

Hollett Makes WHL Debut vs Victoria Royals

Goalie Jordan Hollett would have preferred a different outcome, but he was nonetheless thrilled to make his WHL regular-season debut with the Regina Pats.

The 15-year-old Hollett – the 13th-overall selection in the 2014 bantam draft – was called up by the Pats to start Saturday’s road game against the Victoria Royals, who prevailed 5-0 to halt Regina’s winning streak at five games. Full Article

ABBOTSFORD, BC – Maguire Houlind stopped all 24 shots he faced as the Delta Hockey Academy blanked the Banff Hockey Academy by a 4-0 score on Friday afternoon at the Abbotsford Centre.

Houlind, 14, earned the shutout in his first start at the Prep Division level after being called up from the Delta Bantam Prep squad.

ABBOTSFORD, BC – A total of eight different players found the back of the net as the Delta Hockey Academy blanked the Edge School for Athletes AAA team 11-0 on Saturday morning at the Abbotsford Recreation Centre.

Boston Bilous, a 13-year-old call-up from the Delta Bantam Prep team, earned the shutout in goal in his Prep Division debut, stopping all 11 shots he faced.

Boston Bilous now sits at 2-0-0 at the Prep Division level for Delta, as he stopped 11-of-12 shots on the night.

ROCKY MOUNTAIN CLASSIC BANTAM AAA INVITATIONAL CHAMPIONS 2014

The Rocky Mountain Classic Bantam AAA invitational took place in Calgary, AB, this past weekend. The tournament started on Thursday, November 13th, and went until Sunday, November 16th. Taking third place was the Calgary Flames after beating the Winnipeg Monarchs in a close battle by a score of 5-4. The championship game took place on Sunday between the South Delta Hockey Academy and the Yorton Terriers. Delta came out firing and took the game by a score of 10-1, leading to winning the Rocky Mountain Classic.

Eric Williams saw his 5th Start of the season for UBC Thunderbirds and earned his 2nd win and Games 1st Star. Williams has 2 Wins and 3 Losses 2.97 GAA and .902 SV%.

(Sophomore Goaltender – North Vancouver, British Columbia)

Finn posted 6-1-0 mark in seven games in October to help Colgate get off to its best start since the 2004-05 season. He allowed just eight goals in seven games played, recording NCAA-best three shutouts. He also stopped all 75 shots faced in three home contests in October, while allowing more than two goals in a game on just one occasion. Finn was named ECAC Goaltender of the Week and NCAA.com First Star of the Week for his two-shutout performance against Northeastern (Oct. 17-18).

Finn Earns NCAA 1st Star Award

Goalie Charlie Finn, Colgate Mens Hockey,   stopped all 52 shots he faced this weekend in leading the Raiders to a pair of 3-0 shutouts of Northeastern. He is the first Colgate goalie since Mark Dekanich in 2007-08 to post consecutive shutouts. A sophomore, he made 24 stops in the opener and recorded 28 saves in the finale and now has more shutouts this year than he did all last season as the Colgate netminder. Finn is the only goaltender in the nation with more than one shutout and heads into this weekend’s series against Sacred Heart on a streak of 125 minutes without allowing a goal.

Starting back with the inceptions of Magic In The Net Goaltending and then the opening of our Synthetic Training Facility in 2003 and 3 years later Magic Hockey & MGD Goaltending were formed a 9,600 sqft Real Ice Training Facility Opened April 2006.
